Sun Peaks Resort, Sun Peaks, British Columbia

Watch the video below to see how Urban Solar’s pathway lighting solution was installed at Sun Peaks Resort to illuminate the walkway and improve workers’ safety.

Sun Peaks is an alpine ski resort located in Sun Peaks, B.C., 56 km northeast of Kamloops. It consists of 4,270 acres spread across three skiable peaks.

Sun Peaks houses several workers throughout the season and has a large residential area where the employee quarters are located. With no suitably-illuminated pathways or side roads, employees had to walk along a busy road to reach the resort. As winter conditions resulted in slippery roads and poor visibility, walking along the road was becoming increasingly dangerous.

Sun Peaks created a specific side route/pathway and installed SLL 240 systems. The lights were an ideal solution to illuminate the walkway from the worker’s quarters to the main resort area. It allowed them to walk in a far safer location, away from the main road, with more than adequate illumination for way-finding.
